As the COVID-19 virus impacts communities around the globe in unimaginable ways, it bears repeating that it is affecting women disproportionately. Our client population is among the most vulnerable. In fact, 73% of our global affiliates report clients being laid off and 58% of affiliates report clients are facing financial hardships due to job loss.
We are working rapidly to be there for the women we serve around the world, giving them the community and support they need as they navigate new ways of working and profound economic uncertainty.
Dress for Success Charleston County is moving forward in innovative ways to ensure our clients’ needs are met without interruption. Our new campaign, Dress for Success Moving Forward, seeks to achieve that goal.
We have mobilized quickly to introduce remote opportunities that will help ensure their economic stability over the next few weeks:
- Virtual career coaching – focusing on topics most relevant to the world of work, such as the online interview process, working remotely, and general career guidance as a result of COVID-19 disruption
- Virtual networking and workshops – focusing on topics most relevant to women navigating the world of work and financial independence during times of economic uncertainty
