Donate Clothing
We strive to ensure that the women we serve look and feel their best when going to a job interview in order to give them every opportunity to make a great first impression. Most of the apparel we provide to our clients comes to us from other women in the community.
Image Coaches not only assist women in selecting a complete interview outfit (including handbag, shoes, and accessories), they also provide one-on-one attention, style and presentation advice, and confidence-boosting support.
What We Accept
- Work attire: suits, dresses, pants, blouses, skirts and sweaters
- Shoes (both heels and rubber-soled work shoes) in excellent condition and free of excessive scuffing, flaking or dry rot inside
- Handbags (including briefcases and portfolios) without company logos
- Jewelry separate in individual plastic bags
- Scarves
- New bras, pantyhose, tights and trouser socks
Most Needed Items
- Petite sizes work attire
- Petite-Plus size work attire
- Plus-size work attire (sizes 18 – 22)
- Belts (black, blue and nude)
- Shoes size 10 and up
- Interview and work appropriate handbags (including briefcases and portfolios without company logos)
What We Cannot Accept
- Clothes with stains tears, rips, holes, broken zippers, and so forth
- 100% wool clothing (with the exception of winter coats), corduroy, velvet, leather, suede, micro-fiber and fur
- Clothes without a size label
- Clothes that have been altered (except for length)
- Turtlenecks
- Long dresses including everyday and formal wear
- Used undergarments
Preparing Your Donation
The following is required for all clothing donations:
- Clothing must be professionally cleaned and free of stains, tears, rips, holes, broken zippers, etc.
- Items should be no more than two years old (for fashion appropriateness)
- Clothing must be on hangers
- If you need an inventory of donated items, please make a list prior to dropping them off as we are unable to provide this for you.

Drop-Off Location
We are currently in negotiations for drop off locations. Please send us a message or call 843-813-3362 to schedule a drop off day and time.
Consignment Locations
Our partners (listed below) consign clothing for Dress for Success Charleston. All proceeds generated are donated to the organization to support the purchase of specialty sizes and professional attire for our clients.
