Volunteers are the lifeblood of Dress for Success Charleston County. Without the help of volunteers, we would not be able to provide our programs or continual opportunities for success.

Ways to Get Involved
Our volunteers are integral to achieving our mission of economic independence for all women.
Attend an Event
It’s probably one of the easiest ways to learn how you can help. Attend one of our events, speak with the staff, see where you can contribute to the cause. View our event calendar.
Event Logistics
Support the DFS staff during events including check-in, taking photographs, serving food, handing out supplies and other volunteer tasks.
Event Speakers
Present valuable professional advice and share expertise with our clients. Topics have included work/life balance, financial literacy, diversity in the workplace, workplace etiquette, building a professional network and communication skills. Learn more about becoming a speaker.
First Impressions
Lead an hour-long interview preparation class for our clients who have an upcoming interview or job fair to help boost their confidence beyond the suit.
Job Skills Volunteers
Job Search Skills volunteers assist job seeking clients through their job search by teaching them various skills and strategies that will help them gain a job and retain it thereafter. These skills include resume writing, LinkedIn facilitation and networking, and mock interviews.
Merchandising Volunteers
Help organize and ticket clothing donations and assist with inventory-related projects.
Personal Shoppers
Work one-on-one with clients to help them find the perfect interview suit as well as the confidence boost they need to succeed in their interviews and beyond.
