Dress for Success Charleston County (DFSCC) was incorporated in 2003, as the first Dress For Success affiliate in the State of South Carolina. Our staff consists of volunteers.
Our Vision
Our vision is to not only provide women with appropriate clothing for job interviews, but to also provide a stable, caring, supportive environment where women can receive the support they need to achieve self-defined success.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing professional attire, a network of support and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Our Impact
Since our inception, we’ve suited over 4000 women from the Tri-County area in spite of temporarily suspending our services due to restructuring from 2009 to 2011.
Every time a woman gains confidence and achieves financial independence through her career, it creates new potential for her children’s future too.
Our Programs
Our programs and services are grounded in providing the essential knowledge, tools, skills, and resources required to empower women to get a job, keep a job, advance their careers, and cultivate professional and civic leadership roles.
SuitHER
We want every woman to feel her best while searching for a job and in the first few weeks of her new employment experience. Once a client completes an employability program, she is referred to Dress for Success Charleston by one of our referral agencies to obtain professional attire.
Beyond the Suit
We all know that having the appropriate attire to attend a job interview or to maintain a new job is the first step towards self – sufficiency. It takes more than wearing the appropriate attire to work to be successful in the workplace.
All of our services are free for our clients courtesy various financial donations, clothing donations and corporate partnerships.
